Our history
Welcome to the Auberge de la Marine, an establishment whose history is marked by significant moments and inspiring transformations. Our recent reopening, under the energetic leadership of the new owner, marks an exciting new chapter in our journey.
In May 1953, Mr. Michel Grandvuillemin laid the foundations of what would become the Auberge de la Marine. Leaving Jura with his mother, he purchased the bar from Madame Louvet, thus opening the doors to our establishment.
The year 1960 marked a major turning point with our first expansion. By purchasing the adjacent house, formerly a shoe boutique, the Auberge de la Marine expanded its offering to include comfortable and welcoming hotel rooms.
Continuing this momentum, in 1972, a second expansion was undertaken. Converting another former shoe shop into eight additional rooms, the property has responded to its guests' growing demand for quality accommodation.
Today, as we reopen our doors with a renewed vision, Auberge de la Marine is committed to continuing its legacy while embracing the challenges and opportunities of the present. Under the leadership of the new owner, we are determined to offer our guests a memorable experience, combining tradition and modernity.
We invite you to join us on this next stage of our journey. At the Auberge de la Marine, each stay is a story in itself, where authentic hospitality, comfort and exceptional gastronomy combine to create unforgettable memories.
